Easy Hummus

I am sharing our favorite easy hummus recipe. Hummus is a quintessential Middle Eastern dip made by blending chickpeas with tahini, garlic, and citrus.

We believe no good mezze is complete without a bowl of authentic, smooth, ultra-creamy, and nutritious hummus.

This delicious, plain classic homemade hummus recipe is so much easier to make than most people think and way better than the store-bought stuff.

Recipe

Ingredients

1 can cooked chickpeas, drained (about 240 grams)

2 tbs ice cold water

1 clove garlic, minced

2 tbs tahini

1 tbs freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 ts sea salt flakes

Method

  1. Add chickpeas, water, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt to the bowl of a food processor. Puree until smooth. Add a few drops of cold water if required. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Optional toppings: we love to add sprouts, not only because they’re very nutritious but they add extra crunch and are simply delicious. Sumac is also another good alternative.
