About us

We are Heinrich and Lizelle, but most call us Heins and Zellie. We have started this blog as a celebration of all our travel and food memories and in anticipation of new destinations and tastes. Our main aim is to share the destinations, restaurants, food, and life experiences shared around the table, especially the wonderful recipes that bring people together.

We both grew up in sunny South Africa. We used to live in the beautiful little town of Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands where we both graduated. We now live in Maastricht, Netherlands. Heinrich works as a Project Controller at Equans and Lizelle works at Deloitte in Auditing. 

Heinrich is a self-taught cook with an entrepreneurial passion for sustainable and delicious food, farming, and sports. Lizelle went to Silwood School of Cookery in leafy Rondebosch in Cape Town for a year. She is also a Nutritional advisor and believes that by eating a balanced and nutritious diet you can heal your body and achieve optimal health. She has a strong passion for people, accounting, nutrition, and quality products. She is also the co-owner of Zelat Boutique who imports unique fashion clothing from Europe, Australia and Canada and Zelat Leather who specializes in the design and distribution of hand-crafted raw South African leather products and
